Rosemary French Bread Recipe


2 1/4 cups bread flour
1 package dry yeast
2 teaspoons of sugar
1 teaspoon chopped fresh or dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1 teaspoon olive oil


3 tablespoons finely shredded Parmesan
1 teaspoon chopped fresh or dried rosemary
1/4 teaspoons garlic powder


You will prepare your dough in a bread machine. Put all ingredients, except the olive oil and the ingredients listed for the topping, in the bread pan, following the manufacturer's's instructions. Use the dough cycle, but remove your dough before baking begins.

Preheat oven to &350: F.

Sprinkle a kneading board with flour. Put the French bread dough on the board and rub the olive oil over it. Next, you want to roll it into a foot long loaf. Place this loaf on a baking sheet.

To top, combine the topping ingredients and sprinkle over the top of the rosemary French bread. Bake until done, which will take approximately three quarters of an hour.

Take out of the oven and place on a wire rack to cool.
